After working with committed individuals and non-profit organizations who were trying to protect, preserve and renew natural resources, Green became an advocate for the connection between our personal health and the wellbeing of the planet. Every day we come into contact with hundreds of chemicals that are either known to be harmful to our health or suspected to be detrimental to our well-being. Although we can’t completely insulate ourselves from many environmental pollutants, there are better grooming products, home cleaning products and natural healing remedies that can reduce that exposure. She knew from her own personal health journey towards optimum wellbeing what a difference that made. She wanted to introduce others to these non-toxic, effective products that she discovered.
Solutions to environmental issues can many times seem too complex to fully comprehend – and on a scale that seems like one person can’t make a difference. But as more people make changes in their daily lives at home, school and workplace, it will not only be better for them; it will also have a positive effect on our planet.

Shelley Green
Shelley Green is the founder and owner of The Green Corner Store in downtown Little Rock. She opened the eco-friendly general store to showcase local, sustainable and organic products. The store is a proud anchor in the SoMa district of Little Rock, AR.
As Shelley’s passion for advocating for the environment intensified through the years, Green decided to pursue work aligned with her values. She worked with the EcoScape at Birmingham-Southern College and volunteered with the Northwest Earth Institute.
Since moving to Little Rock in 2006, she has been active in the community. Co-founding the Arkansas Earth Institute and served on the City of Little Rock Mayor’s Sustainability Commission. She served as a director on the Board of Sustainable Business Network of Central Arkansas, Local First Arkansas, and SoMa 501.
She enjoys being outdoors and pursuing her many interests such as gardening, reading, cooking, and healthy living.
